Chris Gutierrez celebrated his 100th game yesterday
with a victory over Brigades. For a young man who didn't even
know about Aussie rules, having lived in the US for
some years, has come a long way in this great game.
2 points separated the teams in the first quarter
with Towns going out to play from that point onward.
The opposition only managed to score 1 point in
the second quarter before allowing Towns to unleash
an attack of merciless football on them. Captain
Dale Baynes showed his versatility and unselfishness on
the field, giving his forwards the go ahead to kick
goals.
...................................................................................................................................................................... RESERVES Dual coaches Brett
Kishere & Tiny Whitby may have felt a bit daunted
following the game against Brigades when their charges
were beaten by 81 points. Not showing many wins on the
board this season, the Reserves manage to play the games
out each week. Whilst wins are wanted and needed, this
group have put a challenge to themselves to build up
a team worthy of the top 4 for the 2010 season. The
goss is they will be training in a very different way
leading up to the season proper.
....................................................................................................................................................................... COLTS
The Colts opened the score on the scoreboard but were
then kept scoreless till the last quarter. Brigades
went out to have quite a solid lead.
To the Colts credit, they came back in the last quarter,
chipping away at the lead. There is a lot of talent in
this team and if they could ever put it together, they
would be winners. One final game for the 2009 season
against Valley this Saturday. Lets hope the boys can
bring home a win
