GERALDTON FREIGHTLINES SUPPORTERS CHOICE
AWARD -
Christopher Gutierrez.
A
splash of red & white records, footballs and balloons set
the scene for the 2009 Towns Football Club Windup.
The ladies looked very chic & sassy, donning beautiful dresses
and the men looked stylish in their suits.
In the VT Clune medal count, SHELDON NELLY took out the top award.
Sheldon had a stellar year in football and he was rewarded with this
prestigious medal. Well done !!!
4 worthy recipients were inducted into the elite group of life membership
for Towns Football Club. Shayne Bidwell, Robert Colley, Reg Hall &
Janet Hall were overjoyed as glasses were raised and toasted in their
honour. In his speech, Shayne Bidwell announced his retirement from
football. He will be missed in the team.
Guests were seated and enjoyed a delightful 3 course meal prepared
by Jane and her hard working staff while watching the League vote
count. Once again Carly Browne did an exceptional job in the presentation
of the count.
Gaye Chapman was named the 2009 "Speed Jones" Club Person
of the Year. Gaye has worked tirelessly in the club for numerous years.
Never heard her complain yet.
This year the club had a new award for the best dressed Lady &
best dressed Man.
Leanne Bidwell took out the ladies prize & Zac Middleton won the
men's prize.
Both were dressed appropriately in RED. They each won a beautiful
white gold watch.
For the 2nd year running, TFC supporters voted on their player of
choice for each game. It is now named the Geraldton Freightlines Supporter
Choice Award as they chose to join this group of supporters. As said
time and time again, this award does NOT take away from the VT CLUNE
medal.
In saying all that, this is still a very sort after award by the players
themselves. This year the winner was Christopher Gutierrez. His speech
kind of put the knockers back in their seat for a bit.
The club would like to thank all the people who made this night such
a success. Some of these people work days and nights (and still are
) to keep the club in the high standard it is known for.
Below is the list of all the award winners for Colts, Reserves &
League.
Well done to you all.
This will be a break for me for a couple of weeks.
News about the KIDS XMAS TREE will be posted in the very near future.
See you all in 2010
............................................................................................................................. Once again a huge thank you to all our
Sponsors for their contribution throughout the year.
