It must have been very daunting for Chapman Valley on Sunday as the Bulldogs steam rolled anything that was in their way in the first half.
Keeping the Valley scoreless in the in first Q showed the depth of this League side.
The small tough players were the ones that put their body on the line for Towns FC, keeping the play out of Valley's 50 and pushing it down to their forwards. Towns forwards reciprocated by booting 17 goals in the first half.
Brad Muir showed his best game yet for the Bulldogs. His presence was everywhere on the field. He displayed strength, courage & determination.
Towns gelled together as a team, showing some pretty classy football for 3 Q's
In the final term, they lacked all system allowing Chapman Valley to get some respect on the scoreboard.
The side was shuffled around in positions causing confusion the most part.
Chapman Valley did manage to put a small crack in the Towns Zone in this Q.
Towns did not produce a tick in the goal box till 18 minutes into the 3rd quarter.
Next game will see the return of about 7 senior players to this side.
Who will be in & who will be out ?
In a very competitive first half, Towns had more credit in the bank than their Valley opponents. This soon changed after the break with the Valley booting 6 unanswered goals.
Towns managed to score a behind, 1 second before the 3rd term siren.
After a spray from their coach, the Reserves went out to try and redeem themselves, kicking 3-2, with Valley only managing 1 goal.
Coming home strong was not going to give them the points on this day.
In life we are dealt a hand. This being said, you go with what you have got and use it to the best of your ability.
Trust your comrade that you have on the field and have the confidence in each other.
That is team work.
Coach Kishere was reluctant to comment after this game.
There were heads hung low yesterday after the disappointing game vs CValley.
In the first half of the match you would wonder if the players were wanting to be on the field.
They were flatter than an airless tyre.
They picked up momentum in the 3rd Q adding 4-5 to their tally, keeping the Valley's addition to 2 points.
Even outscoring CV in the last Q, it was still not enough to get the 4 points for the young Bulldogs.
There were about 4 standouts in the game that did put effort in, for most of the game.
This week will tell if they are hungry and disciplined enough, to go forward in search of that prestigious cup at the end of the season.
