Last Sundays 2nd Semi Final out at Nabawa was a dismal day for the Bulldogs.
In one of the highest losing scores in a final for many years, this will take its toll on the League Squad.
In the first half of the game, Towns had plenty of possessions & the ball in their forward line but did not capitalize on that. Railways Jeff Smith had a field day when he was allowed freedom to do whatever he wanted in this first half of the game, making a mockery of his opponents.
The back line were kept in overdrive, attempting to shut down the opposing forwards but that was not to be, even though they worked tirelessly.
Railways took full advantage of their center clearances, accountability, team work and just about everything else it takes to win a game. They made Towns look second rate.
Its not often that you see the ball kept out of Towns forward line but in the last half, this was the case. Scoring only 1 minor in the 3rd Q is not something they would want to reflect on this week, coming into a Pre Lim Final.
The Capt/ Coach is only as good as the ship he is sailing and it seems there are quite a few mechanical problems that need looking at before they sail onto their next voyage.
Taking on the worthy opponents in Rovers will be a big ask for the Bulldogs next Sunday, but,by no means should we discount Towns just yet, as they will not accept defeat that easily.
They are very capable of winning that big one in 2 weeks.
If I were a betting person, I would take the plunge and back the Bulldogs.
Not all is over and lost, as some may think.
