MATCH REPORT - TOWNS U12's RED.

Our under 12's played Railways on Sunday, and unfortunately we didn't have a win....BUT on a real positive note, for the first time this year we had a full side, with 2 players on the bench. It was such a buzz for the Coach to have a full team. The boys played really well as team and we even had some newcomers. Welcome to Travis, Shaquille and Daniel. Our new boys played a great first game. Our star player was Quanie on the day. Quanie played in the ruck for the first time and did a fabulous job. Barton got a great goal in the 3rd quarter and showed his excitement which caught on with the whole team. Well done Towns Red. It was a real pleasure to watch you working so well together.
Thankyou From all the guys in the Towns Under 16’s Football Team

Our enthusiastic team set off to Perth on Saturday in 2 buses driven by equally enthusiastic parents, all very excited about participating in the Under 16’s match to be played at Subiaco Oval on Sunday 10th June 2007.

Our bus trip afforded the boys a chance to get to know each other a little better and started a great weekend of team building. Saturday evening saw us dining in a local food hall and attending a movie before retiring to the Ern Halliday School Camp. Here all the boys shared a bunk room for the night and I am not really sure how much sleep was had but there were no complaints the next day. The boys headed off for an early morning run on the beach with coach Rory and assistant coach Tas, whilst the rest of the adults prepared a 5 star breakfast.

On arrival at Subiaco Oval our boys were filmed and photographed and prepared for the big match. It was a fabulous event organised by Fremantle Football Club Youth League and we were assisted throughout the event by David Crute, thank you so much.

We also had 2 Boys from Midwest Football Academy volunteer their time to be our boundary umpires, great effort boys! Unfortunately though a valiant effort was made by our Towns Team our boys we were defeated on the day.

We were able to watch the AFL match that followed (Dockers v Richmond, A great win to Freo!) and then it was on the buses and back to Geraldton.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our Financial Sponsors, without your kindness our team would not have been able to attend this event. Although this trip was about a great group of young guys participating in a game of footy, it became much more, with friendships built and a memorable life experience gained.

Last but not least thankyou to Rory, Tasman, Michael, Jeff, Chris, Shane and Kerry for giving your time over the weekend. You know it couldn’t have happened without you, hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Our under 16’s have really benefited from this opportunity. Towns Football club and all of our sponsors can be proud of their behaviour and effort.

Go Towns!!

Best Regards to everyone involved

Bev Hudson
Team Manager.
