This would have to have been the scrappiest game of footy I
have seen for a long time. The whole game seemed to take on
a disjointed approach, with lots of stops and starts and very
little continuous flow to the game.
Our bulldogs lead at every change but it felt like at any minute
the game could have gone either way.
We did come out winners by 33 points but it never really felt
like we had a descent lead all game.
We welcomed Josh Clark to the side this week. Josh has just
moved to Geraldton from Wickham and we hope his time with the
bulldogs is an enjoyable one. Josh almost became a first kick
legend but a gust of wind just took the ball wide !!!!!. Never
mind Josh there will be many more chances I hope.
We lost the E point again this week due to bad language on the
oval. Whilst it may be frustrating when umpiring decisions go
against you there is nothing you can say that will change that
decision. Tough thought it may be you just have to let it go
and let your footy do the talking. The E point may only be on
trial for this season but next season the premiership ladder
may well be based on this format. The E point is an easy point
to achieve as long as your focus is on fair play and sportsmanship
and it could easily be the difference between top four and bottom
four on the ladder.
Next week we have a change of venue – we play Brigades
at GREENOUGH..

Those St. Pats boys were too good
for us today fellas, but your Coach, Alex has faith in you
AND for our teams future. Alex commented after the game
that you all put in a great “Team Effort”. Well
done and you should all give yourself a pat on the back for working
as a Team.
Thanks again to Sean Hickey for Boundary Umpiring. Guys we
really need to find a permanent Boundary Umpire. If you know
anyone, please let Lisa know as soon as possible on 9921 5580.
Sean is our Assistant Coach and puts in heaps of time with trainings
etc. Let’s give him a rest on the weekend and let someone
else take on this role of umpiring. Young Stewart our “permanent”
goal umpire does a wonderful job each week. We will see in
the AFL one day.
Thanks again boys for the majority of you turning up. It’s
really nice to have a full team each week with a few on the bench.
Keep it up! Alex will be speaking with you at training this
week about who will be playing on game days. Basically if
you don’t train, or don’t let us know you can’t
train, you may not get to play on the Saturday because we have plenty
of kids who do show up regularly and deserve to play each
week. But Alex will explain all of this to you on Wednesday.
Have a great week fellas.
